To all Wanchanagi District merit badge counselors:
Once again it is time to recharter the Wanchanagi District merit badge counselors. Periodic rechartering of all merit badge counselors is BSA policy. Each merit badge counselor will be contacted by postal mail with a form to sign and return. This recharter is different from the past recharters because we are asking the counselor to verify the information of record that is in our MBCW database. The form contains the information that needs to be verified and the counselor is asked to either sign that it is correct or mark the corrections and sign. Then, the forms must be returned to us by 4/16/10 via postal mail, delivered in person, faxed, or scanned and emailed. Counselors not returning the form will not be rechartered. If information is changed, the counselor may be contacted further. Note that there is no provision for a troop to give us a list of merit badge counselors to recharter since the actual forms must be signed and returned.
Since only chartered counselors are mailed the form, those who do not receive a form in the mail are either not actually chartered, have an incorrect mailing address in our records, or there is some other error. Be on the lookout for the mailing going out the week of 3/8/10. If you do not receive it and believe you should, contact Ken Mosny at wanchanagi.mb@comcast.net .
You can view the MBCW database in advance by asking your Troop Advancement Chair to see it. Regular updates of the MBCW database are emailed to those Advancement Chairs that have requested it. If your troop does not have the database, contact Ken Mosny at wanchanagi.mb@comcast.net . The data on the website www.wanchanagi.org only includes counselors who are willing to teach outside their troop, so it is not a complete listing of all district counselors.
